There is a new trend in buying Summerlin real estate . The majority of new homeowners are young, single women. Actually, there has been a 6 percent increase in female homeowners between 2001 and 2005.

Affordability, a closeness to entertainment and nightlife, and a safe neighborhood are what the majority of young singles are looking for. Much more of the buying market is made up of recent immigrants and minorities. In order to build equity so that a larger home can be purchased, many are starting off with condos. Finally, retirees and empty-nesters are downsizing and head towards active adult communities. They are done with gigantic houses and prefer to live in smaller homes, nearby friends and entertainment.
